Christina P. Rusk, 74, formerly of Alliance, died Monday, May 30, 2011 at Lincoln, Nebr. She was born March 23, 1937 in Alliance to Elvie and Christina (Hahn) Pont. On June 27, 1954 she was united in marriage to Robert G. Rusk. Christina worked and various occupations including working at the Edgemont Public Library, Worley Studio, Kmart, American Greetings, Tupperware sales representative, an insurance agent and drove for Armadillo Transport Company. She also had her own computer business called "Info to Go" and taught computer classes for WNCC in the adult education program. She also worked in telemarketing and providing child and adult daycare for the State of Nebraska. She served as Lt. Governor for the Optimist Club and was a member of the UTU Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Elsberry of Scottsbluff and Sally Jo Blazek of Norfolk, her foster daughter, Stella Acosta, her grandchildren, Amber Elsberry, Tiffiany Elsberry and Patrick McGarry, her great-grandchildren, Draven Cary, Gaven Cary, Tristian McGarry, Katlynn Walter, Angelina Walter, Ethain Jones, Xadian Lehman-Bear and Arrya Lehman-Bear. She is also survived by foreign exchange students that she hosted Rindlo Sboli of Rome, Italy and Jai Liu of Beijing, China. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, 1 sister and 4 brothers. Memorial services will be Thursday, June 9 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel with Rev. Dr. Stephen Roosa officiating. Inurnment will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Memorials may be given in care of the family to Sally Blazek, 600 Queen City Blvd., Apt. 2, Norfolk, NE 68701.

Albert Pont, 90, of Indialantic , passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Albert was born January 1, 1921 to Elzie Pont and Christina Hahn in Alliance, Nebraska. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He served our country and retired from the U.S. Marine Corp. Albert was also an air traffic controller for F.A.A. . Albert was a member of the VFW, American Legion and volunteered with the Holmes Regional Medical Center. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, and woodworking in his spare time. He is survived by his wife of 65 yr. Mary E. Pont; sons Gregory, Steven Richard, Michael, Mark, and A.J.;daughter, Mary Sellers; sister, Christina Rusk; 6 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Friday April 15, 2011. Internment is at Florida Memorial Gardens. Arrangements under the direction of Florida Memorial Funeral Home, Rockledge, FL.

John Pont of Yucaipa, born in Nebraska, was a resident of Yucaipa for 20 years, died Friday in Yucca Valley at the age of 55. Pont was a glass cutter for 20 years and was a member of the American Legion Post 129 in Banning. He was survived by his wife, Virginia, a son, Gene of Yucaipa, a duaghter, Leona White of Running Springs, two brothers, Al of Colorado and Howard of Victorville, two sisters, Ruth Paxton of Oakland, New Jersey and Christian Rust of Edgemont, South Dakota and three grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel, Yucaipa with graveside services to follow in Montecito Memorial Park.

From ANCESTRY.COM: John Pont was born in Nebraska on March 12, 1918 to Elzie Pont and Christina M. Hahn, both of Nebraska, one of their five children. He married Virginia Kanady of New Mexico on July 5, 1942 and they had three children. He died in San Bernardino County, California on December 7, 1973.
